  1. On the Home screen, select Reports in the Drawing Manager category tile. Alternatively, use the Navigation bar to navigate to the category and style group.

The software switches to the Configuration view and displays the Reports panel.

  2. Expand Report Types, and then double-click the report to define. For example, to define the layout of the material list, double-click Material control. The Reports panel displays a list of attribute groupings applicable for the selected report type (1). The Report Definition panel (2) displays options for defining the report layout.

SHARED Tip You can also click the green plus sign that displays when you first click a report type to add the report to the Report Definition panel.

  3. Type the folder path location and file name for the report in the Report Location box. The filename can be dynamic. For example, you can use the pipeline reference as part of the filename. See Dynamic File Naming in Report Definition panel.

The Preview (file not found) ! error message disappears. Isogen Configuration displays this message until you specify an output location.

  4. Expand File Formatting in the Reports panel, and define the properties as needed.

  5. Use the attribute groupings in the Reports panel to select the attribute data to output in the report. For example, to output the pipeline reference, expand Pipeline Attributes, and then double-click Pipeline Reference. You can also click the green plus sign () that displays when you mouse-over an attribute.

The column definition for the attribute data is placed under Report Layout in the Report Definition panel.

  6. If needed, use the pop-up menu to define the Maximum Characters and Justification settings or to include a comment for the attribute column.

When you are defining the layout of a Neutral report, only Maximum Characters and Enabled display in the pop-up. See Configure a Neutral report.

  7. Continue adding attribute column objects as needed. As you add column objects to the Report Layout section (1), the Preview pane updates to display the corresponding data (2).

SHARED Tip Click on the column object header to remove it from Report Layout.

  8. To output column headers, select Include Column Headers.

The software opens a pane under the Include Column Headers option.

  9. Drag the column objects from the Report Layout section and drop them in the Column Headers pane. Use the SPACEBAR to add spaces between the column headings. You can also use special characters to add a separator between the column heading name and the data.

As you populate the Column Headers pane (1), the Preview pane displays the report headers (2).

  10. To output a title block, select Include Title Block to open a pane under the Include Title Block option.

  11. To populate the title block, drag column objects from the Report Layout section and drop each one in the Title Block pane. As you populate the title block, the Preview pane updates accordingly.

  12. When finished, click Save.

  • As you define the report layout, the Preview pane dynamically updates. By default, Automatic Refresh is turned on, so the update occurs automatically. However, if Automatic Refresh is turned off, you must click Refresh to manually update the view in the Preview pane.

  • Use drag and drop to re-order the columns. In the example, the QTY column object is dragged from its original location as the second column (1).

After you drop the object in its new location, the software updates the Preview pane to match the new order of columns (2). The software also recalculates the Start settings automatically.

  • For more information about the report layout options, see Report Definition options.

  • Drawing Manager.Reports organizes all the standard isometric reports that Isogen supports. In addition to this global Reports panel, the Materials, Welds, Spools, and Cut Pieces categories provide access to a content-specific subset of reports:

    • Materials.Reports provides access to the Material control report, Printed material list, and Neutral report. See Set up a material list.

    • Welds and Joints.Reports provides access to the Weld summary report, Site assembly report, and Site weld information report.

    • Spools.Reports provides access to the Spool information report.

    • Cut Pieces.Reports provides access to the Cut list summary report. See Set up a cut list.

  • You can also use the Drawing Setup Tool to define the layout and appearance of the report data in the material list, cut list, or weld list that is plotted on the isometric drawing. Although the Drawing Setup Tool contains a subset of the features available in Isogen Configuration, its graphical interface makes the initial setup of these three reports easier.
