The following information is specific to the product being installed on-premises. You cannot install and configure database authentication if you are using Intergraph
Smart 3D in Smart Cloud. Please open a service request using Cloud as the product and request that the database authentication be configured for the
model. For information, see Contact the Smart Cloud Support Team.
The Database Authentication Settings utility defines the location of the database users ini file. You do not need to run this utility if you are using Windows Authentication to access the databases. For more information on creating the ini file, see Create database login ini file.
You must run this utility to define the ini file location for every user who will connect to the database on each computer. If several people share a computer, then this utility must be run by each user of that computer.

Select Start > Intergraph Smart 3D > Database Authentication Settings.

Select the database server type.

Select Database User Authentication.

Define the location and file name for the ini file to use.

Select OK.
