  1. Click Mirror Assembly on the vertical toolbar to display the Mirror Assembly Ribbon.

  2. Select the leaf level block or assembly to mirror.

SHARED Tip Only leaf blocks are selectable.

  3. Select the target leaf block or assembly to mirror.

    • If a leaf level block has been selected to be mirrored, only another leaf level block can be selected.

    • You can use the Create all or Make symmetric buttons on the Mirror Assembly ribbon to specify that all source assemblies be created on the target side or only those assemblies with symmetrical content

  4. Click Finish.

  • Any user-controlled properties of assemblies, such as workcenter, equipment, or sequences (symmetric parts only are inherited by or copied to the newly created assemblies.

  • Parts in the target assembly that are not mated with anything from the source side remain as they were previously assigned.

  • Modification of assembly properties on either symmetric assembly does not automatically update the other.

  • Deleting a symmetrically related assembly or block has no effect on its symmetrically related assembly or block except for removing the relationship.

  • The Mirror Assembly command is a one-way operation. Using this command does not cause the software to continuously listen for new or edited symmetric parts or assemblies. See Synchronize Hierarchy for additional information on the corresponding two-way operation.
