Slots and collars are placed automatically when a penetrating profile is detailed, but you can overwrite the selections. The slot and collar selection processes are separated, to allow placement of different slot and collar combinations.

Slot Selection

The slot selection can be controlled by the method that is used to plan the assembly. If the plate is dropped onto a profile, the slot can be opened to a particular angle. This can be set directly from planning data.

The following describes the selection process at the Root Slot level:

  • If the assembly method is Drop, SlotC and SlotA are available. If profile cross section type is BULTL2 or BUT, SlotC2 is also available.

  • If the assembly method is Slide, SlotC and SlotI are available. If profile cross section type is BUTL2 or BUT, SlotC2 is also available. SlotI is available only when the profile is perpendicular to the base plate.

The result of the root selection is a child sub-selection. Each of the sub-selection types are described in the following sections.

The delivered reference data does not provide data to allow slot selection to be set from Planning data. You control the selection. The default is set to Drop, and you must set this at the assembly connection level. You can customize the reference data to allow slot selection from Planning data.
