Use the Configuration Utility's Authorization Provider Connection Details page to define connection information and service details for your authorization provider.

How do I get to this page?

For both the Smart 3D Web API Configuration Utility and the Smart 3D Admin Web API Configuration Utility, the Authorization Provider Connection Details page appears when you are configuring the web server, after you click Next on the Configuration Utility's Site Information page.

Provide connection information

  1. Choose your services provider:

    • Use Sam for authorization - Select this option if you are using Intergraph Smart API Manager as your authorization provider. Note that Intergraph Smart API Manager is licensed separately. For more information, please see the Intergraph Smart API Manager Installation and Configuration Help.

    • Use other authentication server - Select this option if you are using a different authorization provider. Note that the provider must follow the Auth 2.0 protocol.

  2. In the API Manager URL box, enter the URL for the authorization server.

  3. In the Authorize Using section, choose the kind of credentials the web API service will use to connect to the authorization server:

    • Windows Credentials - Select this option if the service will connect using credentials from Windows Azure Directory or Windows Active Directory.

    • Provided Username and Password - Select this option if the service will connect using credentials that are created within and managed by the authorization server itself.

  4. Click Test Connection to test the login to the authorization server.

Provide service details

  1. Define the service:

    • If you are using Smart API Manager, choose the service from the list.

    • Otherwise - enter a service ID in the GUID format.

  2. Click Generate to create a random Service Secret.

You're done with authorization provider configuration, which means you're ready to review what you've done thus far.

  3. Click Next, and continue with Review web server configuration summary.
