Defines options to copy and mirror selected objects.
Copy
Sets a starting point for the operation.
Sets an end point for the operation.
Destination Mode
Specifies the destination.
To Point
Sets an end point for the operation.
Point to Mirror About
Specifies the destination based on a reference point and an end point.
Depending on your starting Destination Mode and Plane selections, you might have to define two new points if you change settings. The behavior depends on your selections and how you switch between destination modes and planes. See the examples below.
-
You select two points, and the Destination Mode is To Point. If you switch the Destination Mode to Point to Mirror About, the software preserves the second point and displays an end point. You can redefine this point.
-
The Destination Mode is set to Point to Mirror About and you defined an end point . If you switch to the To Point destination mode, you must define new points.
-
Plane is set to Elevation Plane (East-West or North-South) in Point to Mirror About mode. If you switch Plane to Plane By Vector, the software prompts you to redefine two points. You cannot define a plane by vector using only one point.
-
Point to Mirror About only displays the dimension line when Plane is set to Plane By Vector. Dimensions are not associated with Plane modes that require only one point for the transformation operation.
Plane
Plane By Vector
Creates a mirror copy based on the direction of your transformation vector defined by the reference start point and end point. The mirror plane generated is exactly halfway along and perpendicular to the drawn vector.
Plan Plane
Defines the mirror plane as the XY plane.
Elevation Plane: East West
Defines the mirror plane as the XZ plane.
Elevation Plane: North South
Defines the mirror plane as the YZ plane.
Required Relationships
Selects a parent for the copied objects. The current relationships copied from the source object display. You can modify the relationships as required for the copied objects.
Advanced Paste Options
Keep Original Permissions Group
Controls the permission group assignment for the pasted objects. This option is helpful when you are pasting large data sets containing different types of objects (piping, equipment, structure). Here are some important points to remember about this option.
-
When this option is selected, the software assigns all copied objects to the original permission group, as long as you have write access to that permission group.
-
When this option is selected, if you do not have write access or if the permission group does not exist (such as in the case when mirroring and copying from one database to another), then the software assigns the objects to the active permission group.
Optional Relationships
Displays relationships that can be deleted that are not required for the new objects. All optional relationships applied by default to the new Smart 3D objects are taken from the parent object. Some might not need to be applied to the new object. Click Remove All to remove all optional relationships, or edit each relationship individually.
Remove All
Removes all active relationships.
