    Modify Selection_Mirror Copy

  2. Select the direction of the mirror from the Plane menu list. By default, the direction of the mirror plane is set to Plane By Vector.

  3. Select a location for the Start Point position in the graphics view, and then select an end location for the placement. The red mirror plane displays and goes through the midpoint of the vector. You can zoom out for a better view of the mirror plane perpendicular to the vector.

SHARED Tip Zoom out if you do not see the red plane.

  4. Review the listed Required Relationships as shown in the example below. To change a relationship, point to a relationship and select Edit . Select a relationship in the Workspace Explorer.

  5. Under Advanced Paste Options, select Keep original permission groups to assign the copied objects to the original permission group, if there is write access to that group.

  6. For Optional Relationships, click Remove All to remove the relationships, or click Edit to select a different relationship in the Workspace Explorer.

  7. Click Finish to place the newly-copied objects.

    • If errors occur, the software tracks these discrepancies and records them in the Window > To Do List Command. Possible errors concern flow direction and listing of left- and right-handed parts. For example, if you mirror a piping configuration and connect it to another object with a different flow direction, the software reports an error. Also, left- and right-handed parts must appear correctly on parts lists.

    • Properties of the modified objects match the original objects with some exceptions. Standard revision and status properties are updated. The software updates named objects, based on the name rule (that is, the software does not update the named object if you defined the name rule, while the software does update the named object for system-defined name rules). The software automatically updates properties that track location or orientation.
