Defines which site database to connect to when using Smart 3Dx. Click the site link at the top of the Welcome page to open this dialog.

Modify Site Database Location Dialog

Database provider

Specifies the database provider.

Site database server

Specifies the name of the site database server. The list includes the database servers registered on this computer using SQL Server Management Studio, but you can also type the name of a database server that is not yet registered. This option is only available if you are using SQL Server.

Oracle service name

Specifies the Oracle instance name. This option is only available if you are using Oracle.

Site database name

Specifies the site database to work with. The list contains the available site databases.

  • If a problem exists with the contents of any box, the software displays a red border around that box. Point to the upper-right corner of the red border to display the error message.

  • To change site databases, you must restart Smart 3Dx.

  • Changing the site database connection for Smart 3Dx does not change the site database setting for Smart 3D. To use the same site database in both applications, you must specify the same site database connection in each application. You cannot modify the site database connection in Smart 3D while Smart 3Dx is open. Modify the site location for Smart 3D using Start > Intergraph Smart 3D > Modify Database and Schema Location. Modify the site location for Smart 3Dx at the top of the Smart 3Dx Welcome screen.
