  1. Select Structural Tab > Opening Command to display the Place Opening Controls.

  2. Select the object for the opening. You can select members or slabs.

  3. Select how to name the opening.

  4. Set the Cutting Limit and Cutting Depth if needed.

  5. Select the parent object plane on which to place the opening.

  6. Select Define Boundaries S3D_Boundary_Select.

  7. Select Sketching Sketch Path to display the Sketching Controls.

    SHARED Tip Select Menu > Options > General Tab, and select Sketch In Oriented View have the software automatically switch the orientation of the active graphic view look down on the sketching plan.

  8. Using the Draw commands, sketch the slab boundary.

  9. Select Accept Com_Checkmark to indicate that you are finished sketching the boundaries.

  10. Select Navigate Backward to return to the Place Opening Controls.

  11. Complete the placement:

    • Select Finish or press CTRL + ENTER to save your changes and exit the command.

    • Select Finish and Modify Finish Modify ICON or press CTRL + SHIFT + ENTER to save your changes, and then start the modification of that object.

    • Select Finish and Repeat Finish Repeat ICON or press SHIFT + ENTER to save your changes, and then restart the command using the same options.
