General
Parent System
Specifies the parent system for the object. Recently used systems that are appropriate to assign as the parent system for this object display in the list along with the Select from Workspace and Select from Model options. The most recently used system displays at the top.
The parent system of the object must have an Approval Status of Working before you can change the Parent System value. If the Approval Status of the parent system is not set to Working, this value is read-only.
Select Interactively
Turns on or off the interactive selection. When this option is on, you can select the parent object in a graphic view or any of the explorers.
Select from Workspace
Displays the Select Parent System Dialog with the Workspace tab open. The workspace is the subset of the active model database you specified when you started your design session. Navigate the hierarchy to select the parent system, and then select OK.
Select from Model
Displays the Select Parent System Dialog with the Model tab open. The model is all the objects in the active model database, including those that are not part of your workspace. Navigate the hierarchy to select the parent system, and then select OK.
Name
Specifies the name of the selected object. If the name is too long to entirely display
in the box, point to the box to display the complete name as a tool tip. If the name
is not defined by a rule, 
User Defined displays. If this name is generated by a naming rule, 
TagName Rule displays. If you enter a name in this box, Smart 3Dx automatically changes the naming rule to User Defined.
Nozzle Properties
Orientation Reference
Displays the orientation reference and orientation properties for the nozzle.
Dimensional Properties
Displays the nozzle dimensions, which define the dimensions of the nozzle itself.
Select Nozzle Dimensions Preview 
to see these dimensions. Each nozzle and port has different dimensions.
Orientation Reference
Select a reference point in the model from which to place the nozzle or port. You
can select a previously selected orientation reference from the drop down, or click
Select Orientation Reference to identify a new orientation reference in the model. You define the nozzle or port
location measured from this reference point. These properties display when you select
Orientation Reference from the Nozzle Properties group. Select Nozzle Orientation Preview to see the orientation dimensions.
Placement Type
Specifies a location type for the nozzle. The following location types are available for nozzles:
Radial
Straight nozzle with nozzle centerline on the radial plane.
Tangential
Straight nozzle on the radial plane, but the nozzle centerline does not intersect the vessel axis.
Axial
Straight nozzle normal to radial plane.
Skew
Straight nozzle that is tilted from both the radial plane and the vessel axis.
Axial Elbow
Elbow nozzle with hub centerline normal to the radial plane.
Radial Elbow
Elbow nozzle placed with the hub radial to the vessel axis.
Offset Radial Elbow
Elbow nozzle placed with the hub tangential to the vessel axis.
Offset Skew
Skew nozzle with a parallel offset in the radial plane.
Position by Plane and Axis
Places the nozzle at the intersection of the selected plane and axis. Available only for nozzles that have the same shape or design solid as the orientation reference.
Position by Point
Places the nozzle at the location you select with respect to the active coordinate system. Available with all Nozzles including PipePort (No Added Graphic) and HvacPort (No Added Graphic).
N1/N2/N3/N5/OR1/OR2
All distances and angles are measured from the Orientation Reference point that you selected. In general:

N1 - Is the distance from the reference object point along the x-axis.

N2 - Is the distance from the reference object point to the face of the nozzle or port in the y direction.
-
N3 - Is an offset distance.
-
N5 - Is an offset distance.
-
OR1 - Is the angle around the reference object point measured from the y-axis of the object (y-axis is 0°) or the Y-axis of the coordinate system.

OR2 - Is the rotation angle.
OR1 measured to Active Coordinate System North
Calculates the OR1 angle value with respect to the active coordinate system north. This property is available when the X-axis of the orientation reference is parallel to the Z-axis of the active coordinate system. If a nozzle satisfies this condition, select OR1 measured to Active Coordinate System North and finish the command to save the new value in the session preferences. The next time you select or create a nozzle, the software calculates the OR1 angle value based the last saved preference. Because this is a session preference, this value applies to all of the nozzles in the System Hierarchy Explorer.
Insert Nozzle or Port
Places a nozzle or port on the equipment using the Insert Nozzle or Port Controls. You can place:
Piping Nozzle
Piping Elbow Nozzle
Piping Port (without body)
Ducting Nozzle
Ducting Port (without body)
Conduit Port
Cabletray Port
Cable Port
Foundation Port
Completion
Cancel (ESC)
Cancels all changes and exits the command.
Finish (CTRL + ENTER)
Saves all changes and exits the command.
Finish and Modify (CTRL + SHIFT + ENTER)
Saves all changes, and then selects the objects for modification.
To Do List Indicators
A To Do List indicator displays in the top right corner of the Modify dialog when you select one or more objects that are on the To Do List. The icons that display are the same icons used in the To Do List Dialog (SHIFT + T), and the Modify dialog displays the most critical status (Error 
, Out -of Date 
, and Warning 
). Select the icon on the Modify dialog to open the To Do List Dialog (SHIFT + T) and make the necessary corrections.
Error
Indicates a serious problem.
Out of Date
Indicates that the related business object could not be processed. For example, the user does not have Write access to the object.
Warning
Indicates a problem that might not be serious, but still needs to be checked.
Locked Objects
Locked
Indicates one of the following situations:

You do not have Write permissions to one or more objects.
-
One or more of the selected objects is not in a working state.
Set the Approval State property to Working, and you must have Write permissions to the object. Otherwise, you cannot modify the selection.
