Create a new session file

New session files are based on a template which provides a starting point for your model. Templates include information such as units of measure, views, styles, and other properties. Frequently-used templates display in the New Session File list. You can get to additional templates by clicking the down arrow beside the list.

Session files allow you to save window sizes and locations, layout, and view orientation from one work session to the next. One of the settings saved in the session is the workspace. See Create a new session file.

  1. Double-click a template from the New Session File list to display Define Workspace Dialog.

    Define Workspace

  2. Select the model from the Choose a Model list.

  3. Select the filter.

    Select Filter

  4. Click OK.

Smart 3Dx starts the design session using the template and filter you selected.
