Click Clip By Volume Command (CTRL+B)
on the View Manipulation Toolbar or from the View Tab.
The clip volume wireframe defaults to the graphic view.

Click Add/Remove Objects
on the Clip By Volume Controls.

In the System hierarchy, select the elevation plane to clip around.

Optionally, type a clipping offset to view on either side of the elevation plane.

Click Accept
.
Smart 3Dx removes all objects that are not in the clip volume wireframe.

Click Close
to accept the clipping and return to the modeling mode.
