Smart 3D Version
13.1

Displays the properties of edge reinforcement profile parts. An edge reinforcement profile stiffens a free edge of a plate system. A free edge is a plate edge that has no logical connections, such as an opening. Profile parts are detailed in the Structural Detailing task.

The order in which the properties display in your view depends on your configuration.

Approval State

Specifies the status of the selected object or filter. Changing this property sets the Status. The display depends on your access level. You might be unable to change the status of the object. The list is defined by the ApprovalStatus codelist.

Smart 3Dx saves an object to the database when you change that object's status. Use Undo (CTRL + Z) to reverse the status change.

You can only edit or manipulate an object with a status of Working.

Area

Specifies the cross-section area for the object. This property is read-only. To change this value, edit the object properties in Catalog or in the corresponding workbook.

Continuity

Specifies the default behavior for an object that intersects another plate system or profile.

Continuous

Indicates that this object penetrates other plate systems and profile systems that the object intersects.

Intercostal

Indicates that this object is split by the other plate systems and profile systems that the object intersects.

This property can only be modified at the root system.

Created By

Specifies the name of the person who created the object.

Cross Section Name

Specifies the name of the cross section.

Cross Section Type

Specifies the cross section type associated with the object.

Curved

Specifies whether the profile is curved.

Date Created

Specifies the creation date of the object.

Date Last Modified

Specifies the date of the last modification to the object.

Dry Center of Gravity

Specifies the location of the dry center-of-gravity for the object.

Edge Reinforcement Offset

Specifies the distance that the cross-section is offset from free edge or from the plate face.

If Position is set to On Face, then the offset is measured from the free edge. A positive offset value moves the cross- section towards the plate. A negative offset value moves the cross-section away from the plate.

If Position is set to On Edge, then the offset is measured from the plate face. A positive offset value moves the cross- section in the opposite direction from the primary orientation. A negative value moves the cross-section in the same direction as the primary orientation.

End Connection Type

Specifies the connection type associated with the end of the object.

Flange Direction

Specifies the direction of the web thickness for symmetrical crossing-sections or the direction of the flange and web thickness for unsymmetrical cross-sections.

Has Substituted Boundary

Specifies whether the object has a substituted boundary.

Has Substituted Definition Object

Specifies whether the object has a substituted definition object.

Hyperlink

Specifies the URL or local file path associated with the object. Click the hyperlink to open the page or object in your default browser. Point to the hyperlink to display the URL or path as a tooltip.

Description

Specifies the descriptive text associated with the hyperlink.

URL

Specifies the web address or local file name associated with the hyperlink. The URL must include the protocol, such as http: or https:, as well as the domain name. For example, https://hexagonppm.com/.

Is Named by Rule

Specifies whether the object name is determined by a rule.

Is Twisted

Specifies whether the object is twisted or not twisted.

Last Modified By

Specifies the name of the person who last modified the object.

Load Point

Specifies the cross-section load point through which the landing curve passes.

Mounting Face

Specifies the cross-section face to mount to the plate system. The options vary depending on the profile cross-section.

Name

Specifies the name of the selected object. If the name is too long to entirely display in the box, point to the box to display the complete name as a tool tip. If the name is not defined by a rule, User Defined displays. If this name is generated by a naming rule, Naming Rule displays. If you type a name in this box, Smart 3Dx automatically changes the naming rule to User Defined.

Naming Category

Specifies the naming category. The naming rule uses the category in naming the profile part that is a child to the profile system.

Naming Rule Prog ID

Specifies the Prog ID associated with the naming rule.

Orientation

Specifies the orientation of the edge reinforcement.

Override Flag

Specifies whether the symmetry flag set by the board management service has been manually overwritten by the user.

Parent System

Specifies the parent system for the object. Recently used systems that are appropriate to assign as the parent system for this object display in the list along with the Select from Workspace and Select from Model options. The most recently used system displays at the top.

The parent system of the object must have an Approval Status of Working before you can change the Parent System value. If the Approval Status of the parent system is not set to Working, this value is read-only.

Select Interactively

Turns on or off the interactive selection. When this option is on, you can select the parent object in a graphic view or any of the explorers.

Select from Workspace ICON Select from Workspace

Displays the Select Parent System Dialog with the Workspace tab open. The workspace is the subset of the active model database you specified when you started your design session. Navigate the hierarchy to select the parent system, and then click OK.

Select from Model ICON Select from Model

Displays the Select Parent System Dialog with the Model tab open. The model is all of the objects in the active model database, including those that are not part of your workspace. Navigate the hierarchy to select the parent system, and then click OK.

Part Geometry State

Specifies whether the part is detailed.

Position

Specifies how the cross section of the profile is attached to the free edge.

On Edge - Centered

Indicates that the cross-section is centered on the plate thickness using the cross-section load point that you select.

On Edge - Offset

Indicates that the cross- section load point is offset from the free edge the distance you specify in the Offset box.

On Face

Indicates that the cross-section load point is placed on the face of the plate. The load point can be offset from the free edge the distance you specify in the Offset box.

Profile Length

Specifies the length of the object.

Profile Type

Specifies the profile type of the part. The list is defined by the StrMfgProfileType codelist.

Split Priority

Specifies the relative continuity priority. For example, if a continuous part of priority 1 intersects a continuous part of priority 2, the priority 2 part is intercostal at the intersection.

Start Connection Type

Specifies the connection type associated with the beginning of the object.

Symmetry

Specifies the symmetry value for the part. The symmetry value is determined by Tools > Board Management Service in Structural Detailing.

Web Thickness Offset

Specifies the offset direction along the plate face.

Web Thickness Orientation

This property is not used.

Wet Center of Gravity

Specifies the location of the wet center-of-gravity for the object.
