After installation, the Configuration Utility should run automatically.

If it does not, or if you need to run it again later, you can find it here:

  • Start > Intergraph Smart API Manager > Configuration Utility

  • <installation location>\Hexagon.Sam.ConfigurationTool.exe

If the tool does not start and you see an error message like An error occurred: The specified value is not a valid password, restart the tool. To learn more about this known issue, see Configuration Tool will not open because of invalid password.

  1. On the Welcome to the Intergraph Smart API Manager Configuration Utility! page, select the configuration task you need to complete.

These tasks center around domains—projects or other logical separations of work—you define in Smart API Manager to organize and manage data. Smart API Manager uses a multi-tenant database architecture, meaning that a single database can contain data for multiple instances of the application. The domain represents a single tenant in the database.

An instance of Smart API Manager is limited to viewing and editing data only for its domain.

The first time you configure Smart API Manager, the Welcome page offers you the following options.

SHARED Tip If you run the configuration utility again, the re-configure options let you correct any issues with the current configuration.
