The managers of constraint resources (for example, a scaffold construction manager) can also be given access to Smart Construction to review, manage, and signal the completion of constraint requests. Providing access to these managers allows this part of the workflow to be managed within the same system used by the planner to create the constraint requests.

Associating the SPC_ManageConstraints access group to a user's role assignment allows that user to use Smart Construction to update the properties of a constraint request that are related to fulfilling the request.

SmartPlant Foundation Web Client for constraint management

SHARED Tip If your organization doesn't want to allocate Smart Construction licenses for this more narrow role, the SmartPlant Foundation Web Client can be used as a dedicated constraint management tool instead:

  • You will need to add a feature set to the Web Client for Smart Construction.

  • SmartPlant Foundation licensing would be required for these users.

  • Once the Smart Construction feature set is set up, users with the SPC_ManageConstraints access group added to their role assignment can log into the Web Client or use the Smart Construction feature set to update constraints.

For more information on how to set up the Web Client for Smart Construction, see Set Up the Smart Construction Feature Set in the SmartPlant Foundation Web Client.
