Create or edit a column

  1. In the Work Package Discipline Configuration window, click on a work package discipline thumbnail and select Configure Columns.

  2. In the Configure Columns page, click Click here to add new item to add a new row.

SHARED Tip Press ESC twice to come out of the row edit mode.

  3. Click Select Value to map to a property.

  4. Select a category in the Type box to populate the corresponding property list in the Property box.

    • Materials - Select this to map this column to a material property. You can select the material property from the Property box.

    • Related Items - Select this to map this column to a property name, edge definition, or relationship definition. You must type the value for a property name, edge definition, or relationship definition in the Property box, to define a column item by navigating a property name, edge, or relationship definition.

Use the following syntax to define properties or navigate relationship or edge definitions for the columns.

    Purpose

    Syntax

    Example

To expand an object with a relationship definition

    +[RelationshipDefinitionUID].[PropertyDefinitionUID]

    or

    -[RelationshipDefinitionUID].[PropertyDefinitionUID]

+SPFGUIAccessControlMethod.Name, which expands to the name of the access control method.

To expand an object with an edge definition

    [EdgeDefinitionUID].[PropertyDefinitionUID]

EDG_ComponentToDiscipline.Name, which displays the name of the discipline for a component.

To expand a property on a relationship

    [RelationshipDefinitionUID]_12->[PropertyDefinitionUID]

SPC.ComponentItem_Types_12->Name, which expands to the name of the component item type.

  5. Specify how you want the column name to display in the Components tab of the Installation Work Package in the Label column. To localize the display name, surround the Label value with braces { }, which serve as a key to retrieve the value from the resource file. Add the display value to the resource file.

  6. Select a data template or type the custom data template name in the list to define the behavior of the column.

    • Data Template list - Select a data template to define the behavior of the selected column when it is non-editable.

    • Edit Data Template list - Select a data template to define the behavior of the selected column when it is editable.

If a column is read-only, the template selected in the Edit Data Template list is not applied to it.
