  1. Open a 3D model from the Models browser window, or open a 2D drawing from the Drawings browser window.

  2. Using Select , right-click a component in the model or drawing and select Drawings.

  3. Select a drawing name to open an associated drawing.

SHARED Tip To view drawings related to a weld in a 2D drawing, right-click the outer edge of the weld.

  • Navigation to and from components in a P&ID is currently supported only for those components that are directly correlated. For example, while navigation might exist from a tank or a pump, navigation between pipe run and its individual components is not currently supported.

  • You can configure Smart Construction to display both the latest engineering drawing and any superseded versions of the drawing. For example, an engineering drawing might be superseded by a drawing with fabrication changes. For more information, see Plan components with fabrication changes.

  • You can view components and related parts in a 3D model. Some components appear as multiple items in the model because each part is graphically displayed; however, if you navigate to the 2D drawing, the same component might appear as a single item. You can use different selection rules (for example, the assembly selection rule) in the model to select the individual parts or the entire component.
