Add a file or folder to an IWP - Intergraph Smart Construction - Hotfix 14 - Help - Hexagon

Right-click a SmartPlant Foundation document and click View and Print to view the document in SmartPlant Markup Plus. You can print the document from SmartPlant Markup Plus.

Add a file from your computer

1. Open an IWP.

2. Click Files.

3. Click Add Files or Add Folder , then navigate to the files or folders you want to add to the IWP.

   You can also drag files and folders to your IWP from your computer. Use Windows Explorer to navigate to your file, then select the file and drag it to the Files section of the IWP.

4. Select a file or folder to add to your IWP, then click Open.

   

   • When you add a file to your IWP, the file is added to the Available Files browser. You can then attach that file to other IWPs. For more information about building your document library, see Build a document library in Smart Construction.

   • Do not use '#' in the file name. If used, the reports will not include these files.

5. On the Attach Files and Folder dialog box, select how you want the file added to the IWP.

   If you select Include in Reports, the file is included in printed reports. If you select Exclude from Reports, the file is added to the IWP as a reference file, and it is not included in printed reports.

6. Click OK on the Attach Files and Folder dialog box.

   When you click In the future, use system settings, the file is included or excluded from reports based how the administrator sets up the files for your company.

Add a file from your file system or library

1. Open an IWP.

2. Click Files.

3. Open the Available Files browser to view your file library.

4. Select the file system that contains the file.

   

   • If configured, you can query for SmartPlant Foundation documents with tag based on the components or document name and attach those documents to the IWP. You can also configure Search by Components to filter SmartPlant Foundation documents with tag based on:

     • IWP discipline and purpose derived from a configurable XLSX file, such as Document Lookup.xlsx, delivered with Smart Construction.

     • External interface and tag-to-document relation.

   • If configured, you can query for parent CWP documents and attach those documents to the IWP.

5. Drag the file to the IWP to attach it.

6. On the Attach Files and Folder dialog box, select how you want the file added to the IWP.

   If you select Include in Reports, the file is included in printed reports. If you select Exclude from Reports, the file is added to the IWP as a reference file, and it is not included in printed reports.

7. Click OK on the Attach Files and Folder dialog box.

   When you click In the future, use system settings, the file is included or excluded from reports based how the administrator sets up the files for your company.
