Before taking a snapshot, make sure what you want to capture is displayed in the 3D model or 2D drawing. Personalize your snapshot by zooming in and out of the model or drawing, applying filters, changing colors, showing or hiding components, or changing the display of components.

  • The Snapshot dialog box provides a preview image of your snapshot. If you are not satisfied with the snapshot, click Close to cancel the capture. You can then retake the snapshot.

  • You can open the saved snapshot from its related IWP by opening the Snapshots section and clicking a snapshot image.

Take a snapshot of the current view

  1. Click Snapshot Current View on the 3D model or 2D drawing Toolbox, or press G.

    SHARED Tip You can also select the arrow next to Snapshot Current View and select Current view.

  2. On the Snapshot dialog box, type a name for the snapshot in the Name box.

    A snapshot name must begin with a letter or a number and cannot contain the following special characters: * ' % ? / \ ".

  3. Select one or more IWPs from the IWP list.

    • You can also click Advanced Search and search for an IWP. Then, select an IWP from the IWP list.

    • Select All Packages or My Packages in the Work Packages Browser inside the 3D model or 2D drawing window to change the search between all IWPs in the system or your IWPs.

Take snapshots of the common views

You can take snapshots of the common views of a model and its components.

  1. Open a model to a desired position, and select a component or group of components to capture.

  2. Select the arrow next to Snapshot Current View and select Common views.

  3. On the Snapshot dialog box, type a name for the snapshot in the Name box.

    A snapshot name must begin with a letter or a number and cannot contain the following special characters: * ' % ? / \ ".

  4. Select one or more IWPs from the IWP list.

    • You can also click Advanced Search and search for an IWP. Then, select an IWP from the IWP list.

    • Select All Packages or My Packages in the Work Packages Browser inside the 3D model or 2D drawing window to change the search between all IWPs in the system or your IWPs.

  5. Click Next and Previous to view the snapshot images of your model or selected components.

  6. Select Relate to IWP on each snapshot image you want to relate to the selected IWP.
