You can also drag the components to an IWP in the Work Packages browser at the bottom of the Components window.

1. Open an IWP containing the components you want to move.

2. Click Undock Window and drag the IWP window to a desirable location on your desktop.

3. Create or open a second IWP to serve as the destination of the moved component.

4. Open the Components window of both IWPs.

5. On the first IWP, select the component that you want to move.

6. Drag the selected component from the Components window of the first IWP to the Components window of the second IWP.

   

• You can move components to and from IWPs with the same purpose.

• When you move components from one IWP to another, the component, and drawing associated with the component are moved and added to the target IWP. If the details do not display correctly, close the IWP and reopen it.

• You cannot move components or work steps from one IWP to another if progress is reported. To move the component or work step, clear the progress, then drag the component or work step to the target IWP.
