When is it helpful to delete outdated models?

It might be helpful to use this utility if you've made changes to your Smart Construction models and you have some components that are no longer relevant.

For example, consider a scenario where a large area of your project is broken into three models (A, B, and C). As the project progresses, you might realize that the third model (C) is no longer necessary, and these components can be included in the first two models (A and B). You make the change in your authoring tool, and you retrieve your data again to pull in the two newly designed models; however, the third model, C, is still in your Smart Construction system. You can use this utility to delete that model that is no longer needed.

Relate the SPC_ModelDelete access group to your role to display and use this utility.

  1. Click Administration > Model Delete Utility.

  2. Search for a model in the Search Criteria box, and then select a model name from the Models box.

  3. Click Analyze.

  4. Review the statistics for the model.
