Can I remove files from my device?

You can remove files from your device. This is helpful if you need to free up some space on your device.

Open the Files tab in an IWP, and tap Remove next to a file name. This removes the file from your device. The file is not removed from the IWP.

  1. Open an IWP.

  2. Select the Files tab.

  3. Select Download to download the file to your device, and then tap the file name to open it.

  • In order to open a file on your device, you must install a default application for the file type you are opening. For example, download a PDF viewer if you are trying to open a .pdf file.

  • The latest file revision and version of the file are downloaded to your device. OnSite checks for the latest during each sync and automatically updates the files.

  • You can queue files for download if you are not connected to a wireless network. When you connect to a wireless network, tap Sync to download the files.

  • Select Close to cancel the download of a file.

  • If a file is located in a folder within an IWP, the root folder name is included with the file name - [Folder name] \ [File name].

  • If a file is located in a SmartPlant Foundation document, the document name is included with the file name - [SmartPlant Foundation document name] > [File name].

This functionality is available with Smart Construction 2018 and later.
