To define a display set, you must create filters for the display set. You can use existing filters, create filters as you define your display set, or use Auto Display Set to allow the software to automatically create a display set.

  1. Select View > Apply Display Set. A right-click menu option is available.

  2. In the tree view of the Apply Display Set dialog, do one of the following

    • Select the required Plant folder, if you want all users of Smart Electrical to use the defined display set.

    • Select the My Display Sets folder, if the defined display set is just for your use.

  3. On the toolbar, select Add Display Set PPM All Outputs Graphic. You can also use a right-click shortcut menu instead of the toolbar.

  4. Type a name for the display set.

The display set name is displayed in the right corner of the application frame, when applied to a drawing.

  5. Right-click the display set and on the shortcut menu, select Add Filter.

  6. On the Select Filter dialog, do one of the following:

    • Browse to an existing filter and select OK to add that filter to the display set.

    • Browse to the desired folder and select New to create a new filter under that folder.

  7. For a new filter, do the following:

    1. On the New Filter dialog, select whether to create a simple or compound filter.

    2. Create the filter with the desired properties.

    3. Select OK to close the Add Filter dialog for each simple filter that you create.

  8. Select OK to close the Select Filter dialog and return to the Apply Display Set dialog with the selected filter added to the display set.

  9. For each filter in the display set, select the desired color and width of the drawing item lines to be applied by that filter. To hide an item on the drawing sheet, select None for the color.

  10. Select the Legend checkbox, to display a legend of the display set filters applied to a drawing, when the drawing is opened.
