A block is the basic drawing unit of a schematic. Each block graphically represents the functionality of an item or a related group of items. Each block must belong to a block type, which you can use to classify the blocks according to the items they represent; for example, a motor and its cables, or a circuit block with its bus, cell, and PDB. The block also specifies the drawing file that contains the graphical information for the items.
