The Load Plant Structure wizard guides you through the required process to load a saved plant structure to a site. To start this wizard, right-click the Plant Structures root in the Tree view and then select Load Plant Structure.

  • You can use the Default Settings commands on the Tools menu to specify default values to simplify the plant creation process. See Using Default Settings.

  • After loading the plant structure, you must assign user access rights for the loaded plant structure. See Create a New Role.

  • After loading a Smart P&ID plant hierarchy, you must run the Finish Load Plant Structure Processing command in the Smart P&ID Drawing Manager Help.

  • When using the copy plant structure procedure, an As-Built plant is copied, but projects associated with the As-Built plant are not.

  • When the plant being copied has a custom hierarchy, the corresponding custom hierarchy template must be created first in the target site before the saved plant structure can be loaded. Details of the custom hierarchy can be found in the Manifest.txt file included in the saved plant structure .zip file.

  • You can automatically include the site administrators group in each new plant you load by selecting the Add the site administrator group to each plant created option on the Site Properties > General tab. Doing this saves you the step of creating a new role to grant these users permissions for the copied plant.

  • Because of differences between the SQL and Oracle column data type fields, when you copy a plant from a SQL database to an Oracle database that contains more than 2000 characters in the column data type fields, the copy process might fail if the SQL database contains non-ASCII characters. You can copy a plant from an Oracle database to an Oracle database, from an Oracle database to a SQL database, and from a SQL database to a SQL database without any problems. Contact Customer Support.

  • Copying, creating, or restoring different plants on the same site, from two terminals, at the same time, is not possible, a Run-time error 91:Object variable or With block variable not set message is displayed on both terminals.
