The Refresh Site Roles utility affects only roles defined using the Use local machine and domain groups or Use site server and domain groups options. Roles defined using the Define role for specified users option cannot be refreshed and the utility skips these roles.

  1. On the Start menu, under All Programs > Intergraph Smart Engineering Manager, select Refresh Site Roles Utility.

  2. On the Open Site Server dialog, select the site .ini file and select Open.

  3. On the Refresh Site Roles dialog, select Yes to open the task scheduler. Select No to bypass the scheduler and to immediately update the roles in the selected site.

SHARED Tip You can also use the Tools > Refresh Users command to immediately update the roles in the selected site. See Refresh Users Command (Tools Menu).

  4. In the Schedule Task Wizard, specify a name for the task and select the frequency at which you want the task to run. The frequency option you select determines the options that appear on the following pages in the wizard.

You must launch Smart Engineering Manager using the Run as administrator option to use the scheduler to refresh site roles.

  5. Specify the time and date when you want the task to run.

  6. Specify a user name (including the domain as shown in the example) and password for a user who has the appropriate user access rights to publish the roles, such as a system administrator.

  7. Select Finish.

You can also access the Refresh Site Roles utility from the Windows Scheduled Tasks utility.
