Define the database for your plant structure. An asterisk (*) at the end of an item name indicates that a value is required for that item.
Database type
Displays the database type (Oracle or SQL Server) used by the site in which the plant will be created.
Oracle alias
Type the name of the Oracle Net Service name as defined by your database administrator. This option appears only if Oracle is selected as the database type.
Database node
Type the Node Name of the server on which the SQL Server database resides. This option appears only if SQL Server is selected as the database type. This node name cannot contain any spaces.
System user
Type a database system user name.
This name does not have to be the database administrator user name, but this user must have minimum DBA privileges to be able to perform Smart Engineering Manager procedures. See Create Oracle Admin Users with Limited Privileges and Create SQL Server Admin Users with Limited Privileges.
System password
Type the system password. Oracle system passwords cannot contain any special characters other than: @ ('at' symbol), . (period), and _ (underscore). SQL Server database passwords cannot contain the character: '
On an Oracle platform using different instances, when exiting this Wizard page, you might receive a message about having insufficient privileges to create the plant structure, followed by a list of the required privileges. To fix this problem, you must create one or more of these privileges manually using Oracle tools.
