The user can compare between multiple instrument revisions. The user can apply the comparison procedure on different instruments at the same time. The comparison options are the following:

  • The user compares between current specification data and specification revisions of an instrument.

  • The user compares between revisions belonging to a single instrument or multiple instruments.

  1. In the Specifications module, select Actions > Compare Specification Revisions.

  2. Do one of the following:

    • Select Find to display all revisions,

    • Under the Revision Filter, in the Tag Number, or Document Number, or Revision Number fields, type the required data.

  3. If applicable, select the required value from the Form Number and Plant hierarchy items lists.

  4. Select Find.

Continue to the preferred comparison option.

Comparing between current specification data and specification revisions of the same instrument

  1. Select the Compare with current data check box.

  2. From the Specification revision selection window select the revision or revisions.

    To select a number of revisions do one of the following:

    • Hold down the CTRL while selecting on the revisions.

    • Select the Select all check box to have all revisions displayed in the Specification revision selection window selected. In this case, the software compares between current specification data and all of the selected revisions.

    When a single specification revision is selected, the software compares it to itself.

  3. Select OK.

  4. Select Yes to preview the printed report or reports.

Comparing multiple Instrument Specification Revisions

  1. Verify that the Compare with current data check box is clear.

  2. Do one of the following:

    • From the Specification revision selection window select the revision or revisions.

    • Select the Select all check box to have all revisions displayed in the Specification revision selection window selected.

    • Select only an even number of revisions per each instrument. A message box appears notifying the user when an odd number of revisions is selected.

    • The software compares the revisions in pairs, and in the order they appear in the Specification revision selection window.

  3. Select OK.

  4. Select Yes to preview the printed report or reports.
