This section of the Process Data (tag) or Calculation window contains the current instrument, line, and fluid properties.
Case (available if you enabled cases)
Displays the current case.
Service
Allows to edit the service of the selected instrument.
Fluid state
Select the fluid from the list: Liquid, Gas/Vapor, Water, Steam, Solid/Powder, or N/A or other.

The Solid/Powder state is not available for instrument type Relief Valve.

Smart Instrumentation does not perform calculations for tags with states Solid/Powder or N/A or other nor for fluid phases other than Single Phase.
Fluid phase
Select the fluid phase from the list: Single phase, Homogeneous 2-phase or Non- homogeneous 2-phase. If you select N/A or other in Fluid state, this field is disabled.
Fluid name source
Select the source from which the data is retrieved: Database, API 2540, User-defined (file). If you select Database as the source, Smart Instrumentation uses the AIChE databank to calculate physical properties; therefore your values must comply with the AIChE temperature limits. This option is not available for the Solid/Powder state. If you select N/A or other in Fluid state, this field is disabled.
Fluid name
Type the fluid name in the Name field.
Analyzer stream
(available only for a complex analyzer tag) Select a stream tag that you created for the current analyzer instrument tag in the Complex Analyzer Tag Manager dialog.
Location
Select Line or Equipment for location of current instrument. If you select Line, the Line number list becomes available. If you select Equipment, the Equipment name list replaces the Line number list.
Automatically displays Line for control valve or flowmeter.
Line number (available only if you selected Line from the Location list)
Select the line number from the list.
Line size (available only if you selected Line from the Location list)
Smart Instrumentation displays the line size and unit of measure.
Line schedule (available only if you selected Line from the Location list)
Displays the line schedule, if defined.
Equipment name (available only if you selected Equipment from the Location list; not available for Control Valve or Flowmeter)
Select the name of the equipment where the instrument is located.
If multiple lines are associated with the selected tag (using Tag properties via Instrument Index), the following additional fields will appear under Fluid name:
Associated line (available only for control valves, if you associated more than one Line with the selected tag)
Select the line number from the list. The Associated line lists details such as: stream, port, unit, and so on.
Line size (available only for control valves, if you associated more than one Line with the selected tag)
Smart Instrumentation displays the line size and unit of measure.
Line schedule (available only for control valves, if you associated more than one Line with the selected tag)
Displays the line schedule, if defined.
When more than one line is associated with the tag, changing the upstream line (Line number) will dissociate all associated lines (a confirmation message is displayed first).
When the process data for this tag is opened next, it will no longer contain the fields
previously included for associated lines.
