This dialog enables you to edit the properties of an exiting cable set (pair, triad, and so forth within a cable) or manually add a new set to an existing cable. (Normally, Smart Instrumentation creates cable sets automatically when you select a cable configuration to create a new cable.)

Cable set

Allows you to type the cable set name or edit the one displayed as required.

Cable

Displays the cable to which this cable set belongs.

Cable set sequence

Allows you to enter the sequence of the cable set in the cable. Typically, the cable set sequence is determined by the manufacturer. Note that if you change the sequence number of a cable set, make sure that you also change the sequence number of the other sets in the cable as appropriate to avoid duplicate values. If you are working under cable type dependency, and have already created plant cables based on a selected reference cable, this field is not enabled for editing. Further, it is not enabled for editing in a plant cable set created under cable type dependency.

You can damage the connection process and cause erroneous terminations if you change the sequence of the current cable set without changing the sequence of the other cable sets.
