The following commands are used when working in the Connection window.
Actions > Connect Jumper
Opens the Jumper dialog, where you create and connect a new jumper.
Actions > Batch Connection
Opens the Batch Device Cable Connection window to connect multiple device cables in batch mode.
Actions > Disconnect Selected Items
Disconnects the selected cable, cable set, wire, or jumper.
Actions > Manage Connection Types
Opens the Connection Type dialog, where you can edit or define a cable- set connection type.
Actions > Manage Local Signals
Opens the Local Signal dialog to generate a new signal at the strip level.
Actions > Open Adjacent Connection
Displays the adjacent connections of the selected item. Smart Instrumentation displays the adjacent connections in another Connection window.
Actions > Open Farthest Connection
Displays the farthest connections of the selected item. Smart Instrumentation displays the farthest connections in another Connection window.
Actions > I/O Assignment
Opens the I/O Assignment window for a DCS or PLC panel.
View > Refresh
Refreshes the data displayed in the Connection window.
View > Find Terminal
Finds a particular cable with its sets and wires in the data window.
Report > Connection
Generates a panel strip connection report.
Report > Point to Point Wiring Diagram
Displays the point-to-point wiring diagram for the selected wire where you can trace the wiring signal.
Report > Loop Point to Point Diagram
Displays the point-to-point wiring diagram for the selected cable-set or wire to display the wiring signal for all the tag numbers associated with the loop to which the selected cable belongs.
Report > Generate Enhanced Report
Generates Enhanced Report Utility reports for the selected items.
New Terminator (context menu)
Creates a new external terminator on a conventional terminal strip in your fieldbus system.
Associate Segment (context menu)
Associates a fieldbus segment with the selected home-run cable.
Count Selected Wires (context menu)
Displays the number of wires that you selected.
Project Activities (context menu)
When working in a Project, only in combined mode, you can claim As-Built terminals from the Connection window by right-clicking an item and then on the shortcut menu, click Claim Terminal.
