Smart Instrumentation Version
13.1

This dialog enables you to select and export Smart Instrumentation data to an ASCII delimited file. You can then import it into a Fisher database.

The resulting comma delimited ASCII file will contain the following information:

  • Fields required for sizing calculation, including line data

  • ISA format specification fields

  • Fields that contain export-only data

  • Fields that allow insertion of new data when you import data from the ASCII file back into Smart Instrumentation

  • During the export process, the character U is added to the Fisher unit number field string.

  • An appropriate message is displayed in the Message Ribbon bar when the export is completed.

  • Failing to convert units of measure will generate an error message. This means that the associated data was exported without the required units of measure (that is, the UOM fields in Fisher database will be empty). In this case, select the required units of measure manually in the Fisher application.

To access this dialog, select Tools > Interfaces > Fisher.

Grid View

The Grid View displays the results of the find query. In this case the EDEs that contain process data that can be exported to the Fisher FirstVue. It is here that you select the EDE whose values you want to export to Fisher FirstVue

SHARED Tip You can apply filters and so forth to your EDE to help narrow your search parameters. For more information on working with EDEs, see Working with EDE Views.

It is possible that the data retrieved by the EDE may contain typical tags as well as process data. The typical tags data doesn't interfere with the export process. If you want you can use the EDE filters and remove the typical tags.
