You can change the target table column type, for example, from char to number and vice versa. This is required if the source table column and the target table column are of different types; for example, one table column is defined as char and the other is defined as number. In this case, you can change the column type of the target table into char by defining it as a foreign key or change the table column type into number by deleting this column key definition. See Delete Key Definitions of a Specific Table to learn how to delete the column key definition.
