Make sure that, in the [Database] section of the Intools.ini file, the following parameter setting appears: AutoCommit= 0. If the parameter setting is AutoCommit=1, the test mode is disabled and trying to test the import process results in actual data import.

  1. Define a log file, if you have not yet done so.

SHARED Tip You can perform a test run of a sub-set of the selected source and target data by applying the appropriate filtering condition to the data (see Specify a Filtering Condition) or partially linking the source and target data (see Define the Import Mapping).

  2. With the Import Link window open, on the toolbar, select (Test) to start testing the import process.

  3. On the Import Progress Test dialog, which opens automatically, view the expected import process results.

SHARED Tip The test results are inaccurate when you import data in a group of links of which some links are related as in the example: cable, cable set, and wire. Also, the test results are inaccurate when you import one or more source tables containing multiple prime values.
