Using the options in this dialog, you can assign one or more instrument tags to a particular hook-up or cancel tag assignment.

You can open this dialog from the Domain Explorer. To open this dialog, in the Domain Explorer, expand in the Hook-Ups folder hierarchy, select hook- up types or hook-ups, and then on the shortcut menu, select Actions > Hook-Up Tag Numbers.

Hook-up type

Displays the hook-up type that you selected. If in the Domain Explorer, you selected more than one hook-up type, you can select the Next button to display another hook-up type.

Hook-up

Displays a particular hook-up that belongs to the displayed hook-up type. If in the Domain Explorer, you selected more than one hook-up type or hook-up, you can select the Next button to display another hook-up.

Additional tags for BOM

Allows you to specify the number of unassigned tags that you want to add in calculation of the total instrument quantity in the Bill of Material. You can use this option to allow for installation of additional spare instruments that are not available for design at this moment because they are supplied by contractor or by third party. These instruments and are not part of the instrument index design basis but hook-up parts and accessories for their installation are required to be ordered as well.

Tag numbers available for association

This group box options allow you to filter and display tags available for association with hook-ups.

Display tags at highest plant hierarchy level

Displays instrument tag numbers on the highest level of the plant hierarchy defined by the Domain Administrator. The default level is Plant.

Display tags at lowest plant hierarchy level

Displays instrument tag numbers on the lowest level of the plant hierarchy defined by the Domain Administrator. The default level is Unit.

Instrument type assigned to hook-up type

Allows you to narrow down the available tag display to a specific instrument type. The list only displays instrument types that you assigned to the hook-up type displayed in the Hook-up type box. By default, the list display All assigned instrument types. This option allows you to display all tag numbers that belonging to all the instrument types you assigned to the current hook-up type.

Filter Tags

Opens a dialog where you can define a filter for displaying tags numbers available for association.

Hook-Ups

After you select one or more tags, you can open a dialog where you can view existing hook-up associations of the instruments displayed in italics under Available tag numbers.

Available tag numbers

After you select one or more tags, you can open a dialog where you can view existing hook-up associations of the instruments displayed in italics under Available tag numbers. You can select one or more tag numbers and select Associate. The software moves the associated tag numbers to the Associated tag numbers pane.

Electrical tags created in Smart Instrumentation cannot be associated with a Hook-Up even if the instrument type SPEL has been associated with the Hook-Up type. The SPEL instrument type is only for use with items retrieved from Smart Electrical in an integrated environment.

  • You can also perform association by dragging selected tag numbers to the Associated tag numbers pane.

  • You can double-click a column header to sort the tags in ascending order. Double-click again to sort the tags in descending order.

  • Tags shown in italics are those that are associated with other hook-ups. If needed, on the Preferences dialog, you can set tag association preferences to limit tag association to a single hook-up or even to a single hook-up type ( Hook-Ups > General > Tag association).

  • In the pane, there is a vertical bar that you can drag to the right and view your data in a split display. To find the vertical bar, place the cursor to the left of the left scroll box arrow so that the cursor changes its shape as shown:

Associated tag numbers

The options in this group box allow you to display the instrument tags that are already assigned to the hook-up that is displayed in the Hook-up box. You can filter the display of these tags and choose the tags to include in a Bill of Material. You can select one or more tag numbers and select Dissociate. The software moves the dissociated tag numbers to the Available tag numbers pane.

  • You can also perform dissociation by dragging selected tag numbers to the Available tag numbers pane.

  • You can double-click a column header to sort tags accordingly.

Tag Number

Displays the associated instrument tags.

Service

Displays the tag service.

Include in BOM

Select this check box to account for the selected instrument tags in the Bill of Material. This may be useful if you require a Bill of Material for new instruments only.

Hidden

Select this check box to do the following:

  • Suspend the display of the selected tag in this data window the next time that you open this dialog.

  • Suspend the display of the selected tag when you generate a CAD Hook-Up drawing or Enhanced Report Utility Hook-Up drawing.

Only one of these options, Include in BOM or Hidden, can be selected per tag number.

Show hidden tags

Displays all the tags in the dialog irrespective of if you have selected Hidden for specific tags. When Show hidden tags is selected, the hidden tags are still not displayed on CAD Hook-Up or Enhanced Report Utility Hook-Up drawings.
