This dialog opens whenever you create an item or intend to change properties of an existing item. It allows you to enter values in the naming convention segment boxes. The dialog title depends on the item type. For example, when creating a loop, the dialog opens as shown:
PPM All Outputs Graphic

Tag class

Only available for instruments. This box contains a list of the available tag classes and allows you to select the tag class you require.

Segment Boxes

The segment boxes depend on the naming convention defined for the given item type in the Naming Conventions dialog, in the Administration module. After creating the first item, you cannot change the segment definitions in the Naming Conventions dialog. When you create an item, the segment boxes appear empty. The segment names are indicated by Tool Tips. To display the definition of a particular segment, move the mouse pointer over a segment box to display the appropriate Tool Tip.

  • Press the Tab key to move from one segment box to another.

  • When a numeric segment accepts more than one value, if you enter a single digit, the software automatically adds leading zeros to the digit. You cannot remove the leading zeros from the segment.

Ellipsis Button

The number of ellipsis buttons depends on the naming convention definitions. Each button displays the appropriate KKS Classification Dialog, from which you can select suitable value and then display it in the segment box placed to the right of the ellipsis button. The specific classification name depends on the segment.

Find (Only available when duplicating or editing an instrument tag or a loop number)

Allows you to find a specific tag or loop number whose properties you want to edit or duplicate.

Previous and Next

These buttons are only available when modifying instrument tag numbers associated with a loop. Selecting Next opens segments definitions of the next instrument tag in the tag order defined for the loop. Selecting Previous returns to the previous tag.
