  1. In the Domain Explorer, right-click the Drawing Block Types folder and select New > General Block Type and define a block type.

  2. Right-click the block type you created and then select New > Block.

  3. Define one or more blocks as you require.

  4. In the Loop Drawings Module window, select Actions > Block - Instrument Type Assignment .

  5. On the Block - Instrument Type Assignment dialog, in the Type data window column, select an instrument type.

SHARED Tip If there is a large number of instrument types in the data window, under Find instrument type, select a column heading and then type a value. For example, if you select Description as a column heading and type Control, in the data window, the software locates the instrument types whose description starts with Control.

  6. Select Assign.

  7. From the Block type list, select the user-defined general block type that you created in the Drawing Block Types folder.

  8. Select one or more blocks that you want to assign to the instrument type.

  9. Select OK and then generate the appropriate loop drawing to display the assigned blocks.

SHARED Tip User-defined general blocks are only shown in the Drawing Block Types folder of the Domain Explorer.
