This dialog allows you to associate source fields with an instrument type name and description for the target. These associations are required prior to assigning an appropriate process function to an instrument type.

This dialog opens automatically from the Instrument Type Description dialog when setting the parameters for the first time. Subsequently you can access this dialog by selecting Define Fields.

Source

This data window displays all the fields in the source table of the selected link. To use a particular source for associating with the instrument type fields in the target ( Instrument type name and Instrument type description), drag the source field to the required target.p

SHARED Tip You can use concatenated source fields if required. For details, see Example of Concatenated Sources.

Type Field Name

Instrument type name

The instrument type name which you dragged from the Source data window appears here. Note that if you associate a source field which is longer than 6 characters, the rest of the characters will be truncated.

Instrument type description

The instrument type description which you dragged from the Source data window appears here. Note that you can only associate a source field which is not longer than 40 characters.
