This tab includes options for you to enter additional Merger Utility configuration data so that you can control the data flow during the merge process. We recommend that you do not change the values on this tab; however, you can do so if you encounter the following problems:

  • The merge process is slow.

  • Your computer has insufficient memory resources to perform the merge process.

Source rows to retrieve

Type the number of rows in a group to be retrieved from the source domain. The default is 1000 rows. To speed up the transfer process, type a larger number of rows than the current default value. To free memory resources, type a smaller number than the default. This may slow down the merging process.

Target rows to commit

Type the number of rows in a group committed to the target domain. The default is 500 rows. To speed up the transfer process, type a larger number of rows than the current default value. To free memory resources, type a smaller number than the default. This may slow down the merging process.

Maximum target table rows for internal search data

Type the number of rows to be searched for source data in the target table. If the number of rows exceeds the value you enter, the Merger Utility executes an SQL Select command on the server. You can accept the given default or enter another value. If you increase the number of rows to be searched, the Merger Utility uses more memory resources of your computer.

Maximum protocol rows for internal presentation

Type the number of rows for which the Merger Utility updates the ID numbers (stored in the Merger Utility and the merge protocol. If the number of rows exceeds the value you enter, the Merger Utility executes an SQL Select command on the server. You can accept the given default or enter another value. If you increase the number of rows to be searched, the Merger Utility uses more memory resources of your computer.

Build new protocol for merged table

For all merged tables, the Merger Utility creates an association between source and target ID numbers, called the merge protocol. The Merger Utility deletes the old protocol data related to the merged table in the beginning stage of the merging process and creates a new default protocol. You can create a new merge protocol for all the merged data or just for the non- filtered data to be merged.

For non-filtered data

Select this option to create a new merge protocol for non-filtered data only.
