From this window, you can create and view your merge sessions and define various settings required for merging data. These settings are crucial for the merging process and they have a profound effect on how data is merged.
The window consists of the following sections:
Menu bar
Provides access to all the Merger Utility Commands.
Application work area
The area where you define data merging sessions and perform various commands. The
left area of the window shows a tree view of the merge session hierarchy. The right
area of the window displays information pertaining to the contents of the selection
in the tree view.
The following levels exist:
Session
The highest level of the hierarchy. At this level, you can add merger sessions or search the entire tree.
< Named Session>
All options relating to the session as a whole can be accessed. These include database connection, selecting items in the database to merge, running the merge operation, and displaying a comparison list.
Session
This folder is the container for the connection options:
Connect
Select to open the Connect to Source Dialog for connecting to the required database and selecting in the domain the required plant hierarchy items for the source.
View
This folder is the container for the following options:
Source connection
Displays the current database connection and domain hierarchy.
Plant hierarchy item matching
Displays the mapping between source and target <units>.
Item list
This folder is the container for the following options:
Select
Select to open the Select Items Dialog to choose the source module item types for merging data.
View
Displays a list of the modules for which item types have been selected for merging data.
Toolbar
Provides access to the most commonly used commands.
Status bar
Shows the current status or the pertinent Microhelp message, plant hierarchy items, and the current date and time.
