You use this dialog to enter line data when you create a new line or modify the definition of an existing line. Line data comprises properties such as the line number, pipe material and standard, line size, line internal diameter, and wall thickness.
This dialog opens when you select Properties or New on the Lines dialog or on the Select Line dialog.
Line number
Type the new line number or modify the existing one.
Line type
Select the line type from the list.
P&ID
From this list, you can select a P&ID drawing number associated with the line.
Stream name
Type the stream name for the line, if needed.
Pipe material
Select the pipe material from this drop-down list.
Pipe spec
Select the pipe spec. To add or edit pipe specs, select to open the Pipe Specs dialog.
Pipe standard
Select the pipe standard: ANSI, DIN, ASME DN (mm), or Other. Defining a new line or when changing the selection to ANSI, DIN, or ASME DN will open the Pipe Data Library dialog where you can select the appropriate pipe standard parameters. Note that the Line size, Internal diameter, Wall thickness, Line schedule (ANSI) / (ASME DN), and Nominal pressure (DIN) fields will be filled automatically with the values taken from the Pipe Data Library dialog. You can select Other as the pipe standard, in which case you will have to enter the parameters for Line size, Line internal diameter, and Wall thickness fields manually.
Line size
If you selected ANSI, DIN, or ASME DN as the pipe standard, the value in this field is entered automatically after selecting the appropriate pipe standard parameters on the Pipe Data Library dialog. If you selected Other as the pipe standard, type the line size and select inches or millimeters as needed.
Internal diameter
If you selected ANSI, DIN, or ASME DN as the pipe standard, the value in this field is entered automatically after selecting the appropriate pipe standard parameters on the Pipe Data Library dialog. If you selected Other as the pipe standard, type the line internal diameter. Note that the unit of measure for this value depends on the pipe standard that you selected and it is the same as the one shown for the line size.
Wall thickness
If you selected ANSI, DIN, or ASME DN as the pipe standard, the value in this field is entered automatically after selecting the appropriate pipe standard parameters on the Pipe Data Library dialog. If you selected Other as the pipe standard, type the line wall thickness as. Note that the unit of measure for this value depends on the pipe standard that you selected and it is the same as the one shown for the line size.
Line schedule
If you selected ANSI or ASME DN as the pipe standard, the value in this field is entered automatically after selecting the appropriate pipe standard parameters on the Pipe Data Library dialog. If you selected DIN or Other as the pipe standard, this property is not available.
Nominal pressure
If you selected DIN as the pipe standard, the value in this field is entered automatically after selecting the appropriate pipe standard parameters on the Pipe Data Library dialog. If you selected ANSI, ASME DN, or Other as the pipe standard, this property is not available.
Pipe Data
Opens the Pipe Data Library dialog to allow you to select or define other pipe standard parameters.
