Smart Instrumentation Version
13.1

You can import SQL queries and PSR files to the SQL Editor and then convert them to EDEs for use within Smart Instrumentation.

  1. In the Reference Explorer, right-click the SQL Editor folder and select New > Import Query.

  2. In the Select File to Import dialog box, from the Files of type list select PowerSoft Report (.PSR) or SQL files (.sql).

  3. Select the files you want to import. Use SHIFT and CTRL on the keyboard to select multiple files.

  4. Select Open, the selected files are imported to the SQL Editor folder in the Reference Explorer.

If a query in the SQL Editor folder has the same name as a query that is imported, the imported query overwrites the query in the SQL Editor folder.

  • Unlike the import of a single SQL query, when importing multiple queries the SQL Editor does not open automatically and display the queries.

  • A message is displayed in the Message ribbon bar on completion of the import process.

  • In the event of a failure, a failed to import message is displayed, explaining the problem and in which file it appears.

The selected files are imported one after the other to your selected target folder. In the event of a problem the import process stops, the software does not skip the problematic file and continue. You should check the target folder you selected to see which files were imported before the process stopped and then fix the problem, reselect the outstanding files, and try to import them again.

  • Existing files are overwritten without warning when importing/exporting multiple files.

You can now open and edit your SQL query, or convert the query to the Query Builder format.
