Due to limitations in the SQL Editor there are two ways to generate an EDE view from an SQL query.

  1. In the Reference Explorer, expand the Queries folder and select an appropriate SQL statement under SQL Editor.

  2. With a SQL statement selected under the SQL Editor folder, do one of the following:

    • Click Actions > Convert to Query Builder, and generate the EDE from the Query Builder. For more information, see; Generate an EDE View from a Query.

    • Click Actions > Generate a View Only EDE.

  3. In the View Properties (New) dialog box type a name for the EDE view.

  4. Select a View Type and Published Document Type (if required).

  5. Click OK.

  • The software displays the following warning: This is a view-only EDE.

  • The SQL editor preview and a view only EDE generated from an SQL query, displays all data that meets the query requirements even if access rights in the Administration module have been set to Access Denied.
