This dialog enables you to create a device cable and connect it to a selected device panel. This feature is useful when a device panel created from the Domain Explorer has been associated with a tag number in the Device Panels window, but you have not yet defined a device cable for it.

To open this dialog, in the Device Panels window, select a tag number associated with a device panel that has no connected cable, and and the select Actions > Create.

Device panel

Displays the name of the device panel.

Associated tag number

Displays a tag number that you selected in the Device Panels window.

Reference device panel

(available only on the Create Device Panel and Cable dialog)

Conventional connections

For the conventional device cable connections, this data window displays the reference cable name, cable set, strip, starting terminal, connection type, and Propagate Tag Signal value. Note that these options are only available for reference panels that require conventional connections.

New

Opens a dialog to create a new conventional connection.

Properties

Opens a dialog to view or change the properties of an existing connection.

Delete

Deletes the selected connection.

Plug-and-socket connections

For the plug-and-socket device cable connections, this data window displays the cable name, panel port, cable connector, and Propagate Tag Signal value. You can select the connection that you want to use as a basis for the device cable that you are creating. Note that these options are only available for reference panels that require plug-and-socket connections.

Apply to all selected tags with incomplete profile (available only when all of the following are true: in the Device Panels window you selected more than one tag and cleared Manual configuration; and at least one tag has an incomplete profile.)

Applies the values that you selected to all of the tags with incomplete profiles that you selected in the Device Panels window.

Skip (displayed only if in the Device Panels window you selected multiple tag numbers)

Displays the next tag number, without changing settings for the displayed tag number.

Skip All (available only if in the Device Panels window you selected multiple tag numbers)

Closes this dialog without changing settings for the displayed tag number or for further tag numbers that you selected in the Device Panels window.
