You use this dialog when calculating intrinsic safety data for a loop. Before calculation, the dialog displays the following:

  • The tags in the loop, with their service and intrinsically safe circuit type

  • The electrical properties determined by the intrinsically safe circuit type — for tags that are intrinsically safe

To open this dialog, in the Wiring Module window, select Actions > Intrinsic Safety Loop Calculation, and then enter a loop.

Data Window

Displays the tags in the loop for which you are calculating intrinsic safety. Select a tag to display below the values set in the Intrinsically Safe Data Input dialog for the current intrinsically safe circuit type.

Tag Number

Displays the tag number.

Service

Displays the tag service.

Intrinsically Safe Circuit

Displays the intrinsically safe circuit type that you selected in the Tag Number Properties dialog.

Group Boxes

(General Group Box)

Displays the message "There is no intrinsic safety data for the selected tag." Note that this is displayed if the tag that you selected does not have an intrinsically safe circuit type.

Non-hazardous area loop components

Displays the values and units of measure for non-hazardous-area loop components. Note that the values are displayed when the tag that you selected has an intrinsically safe circuit type.

Hazardous area loop components

Displays the values and units of measure for hazardous-area loop components. Note that the values are displayed when the tag that you selected has an intrinsically safe circuit type.

Calculate

Calculates intrinsically safety parameters for all the tags in the loop.
