This option allows you to move one or more instrument tags to another <unit> in the same <plant> or to a <unit> in a different <plant> in the domain.
There are two ways you can move tags to a different unit, from the Instrument Index or from an EDE View.
Instrument Index
-
In the Instrument Index module menu bar, click Edit > Tag Numbers > Move Tag Number.
-
On the Enter Tag Number dialog box, type the instrument tag number you want to duplicate, and then click OK.
-
To find a tag that you want to duplicate, do the following;
-
On the Enter Tag Number dialog box, click Find.
-
On the Move Tag Number - Find Items dialog box, select the instrument tag you want to duplicate, and then click OK.
-
-
On the Open dialog box, select the <unit> to which you want to move the current tag.
-
Click OK.
EDE View
-
Open the EDE View that contains the Instrument Tags you want to move.
-
From the Instrument Name column, select the tags you want to move
-
You can use the different filters that are available in the EDE to narrow your search.
-
Use the SHIFT+ and CTRL+ keys to select multiple items.
-
-
Right-click and from the short-cut menu, click Actions > Move Tag Numbers.
-
On the Open dialog box, select the unit to which you want to move the selected tags.
-
Click OK.
-
If you move an instrument tag to a target <unit> whose tag naming conventions are different from the naming conventions of the <unit> where the source tag is, the software applies the target <unit> naming conventions to the duplicated tag number.
-
After moving instruments from one unit to another the software automatically refreshes the Domain Explorer and displays the instruments in the new unit. However, any related items (for example: Cable or Panel), are not displayed until you click , from the toolbar, to refresh the display.
