The options on this tab allow you to define fieldbus properties and associate a function block with the current tag number. Note that this tab is available only for fieldbus tag numbers.
If you are creating or editing items that have to be compatible with Emerson DeltaV, see Crucial Fields for the DeltaV Interface.
Tag number
Displays the name of the current electrical signal tag, for example JS-01.
Segment name
Displays the name of the associated segment.
Fieldbus properties
The options in this group allow you to define fieldbus properties of new or existing tag numbers. Note that all the properties in this group box are optional.
Fieldbus tag name
Allows you to type a fieldbus tag name.
Fieldbus device address
Allows you to type a fieldbus device software address.
Device identification
Allows you to type a device identification.
Signal type
Allows you to select the type of the signal that goes through the Fieldbus instrument.Select if the value you need is not on the list.
Linearity type
Allows you to select whether the linearity is direct or reversed. Select if the value you need is not on the list.
Fieldbus device revision
Allows you to type the manufacturer's instrument revision number for the current fieldbus device. If you select the DeltaV Interface Fieldbus mode preference, this field becomes a list determined by the value that you select under Manufacturer on the General tab.
DC consumption
Allows you to enter the current consumption in milliamperes.
Capacitance
Allows you to enter a capacitance value and select the appropriate unit of measure.
Minimum transmit level
Allows you to enter the minimum transmit level in volts. This is the minimum signal voltage in volts that is expected at the host port terminals.
Operating voltage
Allows you to enter the minimum and maximum operating voltage values in volts.
Backup link master
Select this check box to set the current instrument as a backup link master for the segment.
Function block association
This group-box is not available if you select the DeltaV Interface Fieldbus mode preference, in which case the function block association is determined by the values that you select under Manufacturer on the General tab and under Fieldbus device revision above)
Allows you to associate a function block with the current instrument.
Unassociated function blocks
Lists all the available unassociated function blocks. You can add your own user- defined function blocks in the Function Blocks dialog (select Function Blocks on the Tables menu). To associate a function block with the current instrument, select a function block and drag it to the Associated function blocks list or select Associate.
Associated function blocks
Displays all the function blocks that have already been associated with the current instrument. To dissociate a function block, drag it to the Unassociated function blocks pane or select Dissociate.
Name
Displays the name of the associated function block. It cannot be changed here.
Multiple
(available if in the Function Blocks dialog you selected Multiple for this function block)
To associate more than one copy of a given function block with the current tag, type the number of copies.
Execution Time
(available if in the Function Blocks dialog you selected Execution time for this function block)
Allows you to type the number of milliseconds that will take to execute the current function block.
