Log on as Domain Administrator and select the required domain configured for an integrated environment.

Go to Integration > SDx > Register.
The SDx sub-menu is activated only when the SDx Web Client is configured for integration.

In the Select Plant to Register with SDx dialog, select the plant to register.

Select OK to display the Authentication dialog.

Enter information in the Authentication dialog.
You can get information to populate the Authentication dialog from your Administrator. See Authentication.

In the Hexagon Authorization Server login page, enter your user name and password, and then select Login.
After verifying your credentials, the software connects to the SDx server, and then opens the Register dialog. A two-factor authentication is required for successful authentication.

In the Register dialog, enter information in the Tool Instance Description box. The description you enter must be unique and can include numeric and alpha characters.
The system automatically populates the Tool ID box to display registration to SmartPlant Instrumentation.

To view the parameters to be stored in SDx, select Tool Parameters.

In the SDx Details section, select your work area from the Select a Work Area box.
The system automatically populates the SDx Server URL, the SDx Plant, and the SDx Project fields.

Enter the SDx Web Client URL, and then select Validate.
The system validates that your workspace with the SDx server is registered successfully.

Select OK, to close the Register dialog.

To register a plant with HxGN SDx2, ensure that the Prerequisites are met. If the HxGN SDx2 XML File path is not defined, you are prompted to provide it while registering the plant.

The HxGN SDx2 login you intend to use during registration must have an HxGN SDx2 Administrator, Business Administrator, or Design Lead role on the plant to which you are registering.

You must obtain the required authentication data from your HxGN SDx2 administrator before registering the Plant with HxGN SDx2.

Only plants available for registration or already registered with HxGN SDx2, are displayed in the Select Plant to Register with SDx dialog. If no plants are available for registration, a message is displayed.

You cannot unregister a plant after it is registered.

A Plant can be registered either with HxGN SDx2 or with SPF, see Register a Plant (SPF).

When you register a Smart Instrumentation plant with HxGN SDx2, the internal revision workflow for shareable documents is unavailable. However, the internal revision workflow remains operational for non-shareable documents.

If you revised any documents in a Smart Engineering Manager plant and then register it with HxGN SDx2, any revisions made before the integration are not shared with HxGN SDx2.
