Prior to revising documents, you need to Define the Preferences for Integration with HxGN SDx2.

  1. Select Integration > SDx > Revise Documents from the Smart Instrumentation menu.

This command is available when the active plant is registered with HxGN SDx2 and the authoring tool has implemented the HxGN SDx2 revision scheme.

  2. If you do not have an active document in the Revise dialog, select the Engineering Tool.

  3. From the Find dialog, select Document from the Equipment type field, and then select Find Now.

  4. Select one or several documents to share in bulk. Hold the CTRL key and select several documents from the list in the Results section.

  5. Select OK to display the selected documents in the Revise dialog.

  6. In the Revise dialog, under the Revision Scheme section, select a Name from the list.

  7. From the Major Type and Minor Type boxes, select an option from the lists.

  8. To start a new Major revision, select Next Major to display the consecutive value in the Tool > Major field.

  9. To start a new Minor revision, select Next Minor to display the consecutive value in the Tool > Minor field.

  10. Select OK.

  11. On the Hexagon Sign In dialog, enter your Username, and then select Next.

You must sign in with an account that has access to the HxGN SDx2 environment.

    • For a new document or a document that does not yet have a defined revision scheme, select the revision scheme from the Revision Scheme > Name list.

    • When a document is revised with HxGN SDx2, it is part of continuous sharing. Its revision number cannot be deleted in Smart Instrumentation.

    • Only revision schemes that are applicable to the plant or document type are available in the shortcut menu. If none of the revision schemes are related to the plant or document type, then all revision schemes are available.

    • Any revision scheme that was previously assigned to a document can be changed even if the document has been shared. For example, if the original revision scheme for a document was set as Rev01A, you can change the revision scheme to Rev1A at any time.

    • Revision schemes can be set at any level of the document hierarchy. A revision scheme applies to all documents in the assigned folder and all sub-folders.
