Viewing the .avi Generating Loop Movie in the Enhanced Report Module
If you install Smart Instrumentation in a folder other than the default folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\SmartPlant\Instrumentation), when generating an Enhanced Report the .avi animation displayed during the report generation does not work. To view the animation, you must do the following:
-
Open the Registry Editor.
-
In the Registry Editor go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\FileSystem.
-
Right-click on NtfsDisable8dot3NameCreation, and from the list box select Modify.
-
On the Edit DWORD page, in the Value data text box, type 0.
-
Click OK.
-
Restart your machine.
Security
SPISuper user login
For security reasons, the use of the SPISuper user login is no longer available. The spi_login (security schema login) is used instead. The spi_login is more secure as it is unique per user and can be changed and encrypted by the System Administrator if required.
Database Upgrades
For MSSQL server users, the upgrade to databases can now only be performed by a System Administrator or someone whose credentials have the correct permissions as given by the System Administrator.
If you have not already removed the SPISuper user login. During the upgrade process
you are prompted to enter your System Administrator credentials. The software then
automatically removes the SPISuper user and replaces it with the System Administrator
(spi_login) credentials.
